Hi, i am a newbie here and am after some advice.

i have an E200 estate (auto,Petrol) that i took in part ex. i have resolved a problem with the battery as it was stood idle for 3 weeks.

I have now an issue with acceleration.

when it starts, the idle is little bit rough, but acceleration and power is fine even past 4000rpm. after 25 mins of driving i lose power on acceleration and revs are limited to 4000rpm. this was very annoying especially as the first time i noticed this I was trying to overtake a tractor and couldn't.

I have looked through your forum and not really found anybody that has had exactly the same issue.

can anybody help
Cheers

Hi. This sounds like it could be the air flow meter which needs replacing, your spark plugs could be fouled up or the charger coils and spark plug leads could be defective. Also try tapping clean the air filter. The problem could be a combination of all of the above. I suspect the air flow meter.
