I have a C280 with the M104 engine which seems to have the fairly common problem of a surging idle......I had a similar problem on my 280E which was cured by cleaning out the throttle body and replacing the EGR valve(?).
My C280 tends to surge when the car is at a standstill in gear, especially if its during the warm up faze or when its cold outside.
Unlike my 280E, my C280 tends to idle at 500 RPM which seems very low as my 280E idled at 600-700RPM and it seems to be this low idle that is causing the problem.......is there any way to increase the idle speed on these engines?
I'm also going to clean out the throttle body for good measure, but does anybody have any other pointers?
All help much appreciated.
