My S124 seems to have an extra auxiliary water pump fitted?

The duo-valve pump appears to have been disconnected and connected to a downstream pump.

This pump has an VW/Audi connector and part number

Looking at the Russian parts book suggests there are two types of duo-valve set up, but isn't clear.

Are there two types of duo-valve? I.e. one type with the aux pump integrated into the valve? And the other with the aux pump separate?

I assume the aux pump broke on mine and the previous owner fitted a second pump, rather than replace the complete valve.

Heater is average.

Thanks, so am I correct in thinking:

* that my car has a later type duo valve with an integrated circulation pump…

* The pump part of the valve broke…

* so the owner fitted a separate inline circulation pump, rather than a complete new duo valve?

Looks that way most W124 have a curculation pump on the left side of engine bulkheasd. As long as the heater is working and car is getting warm air i would let it be .
