1995 W124 E200 Estate Horn Part Number Help

The high tone horn sounder on my car died so I decided to replace it. The dealer sold me part 0045429220 which he said was the replacement for the part I have (0045423420). However the parts do not look the same, which I don't mind and the brackets for attaching to the car are different which I do mind.

Any ideas.

that first part number doesnt work on my (2000) epc - the latter does. bu comes up as 'not relevant to MB usa...'

the ones i have listed are 004 542 36 20 - horn, hella, 500Hz

and

004 542 36 20 horn, fiamm, 485Hz ES1 67

and a bracket, 124 540 57 73

there is a pic of two 'normal' horns (which i cant get part numbers for) and one 'trumpet' ish hoem (part numbers above...)

the bracket above 'suspendfs' the horns, the two non listed ones are just plain tags...


prob confused u more havent i?

Thanks guydewdney, it seems the problem is more to do with the bracket than the horn, I'm just going to swap the brackets over and go with that.
