1996 c class immobiliser

immobiliser left on after remote unlocking.
red led in mirror ceased to work approx 2 year ago.
looks like red led in door now ceased to work.
anyidea how to modify / bypass.

I don?t think he has a problem with his immobiliser, but he has a problem I think he is trying to get as much information about faults then sometime in the future he will publish a manual for fault diagnosing and repairs

Hi guys

this forum is suposed to help owners, grow up.

Your problem is that in the IR signal it is not seeing a red light from the mirror or the door reciever therfore it leaves the imobiliser on either replace the mirror ot the IR reciever on the door and problem solved. For backup replace both

Yes this is the way to go if money is no problem.
I pm'd the guy with advice on how to fix it for the price of a bulb.
Has he came back and told anyone how he got on [NO]

Yes there is a fix for the price of a red LED and Two resistors, this is time consuming and unreliable, might work might not, to do the fix would be 1 hour labour cost 95 + vat and no comeback. New mirror 80 quid with 1 year warrenty parts and labour, if anybody wants wiring diag to fix please email

The led in question is clear not red. And you would have to be brain dead if you could not do it yourself.Ithink you are getting ripped off if you pay £95 plus vat to anyone .
