Hi all

My C200 has just started doing something strange. When I use the locking key fob, the red & green lights in the interior mirror and in the driver's door handle start flashing (both together) at the same time. If I leave it for a while, they stop and all appears normal. The locking still works ok, it's just as if the car has decided to become a disco.

Any ideas?

John

welcome to the mysterious goings on of the C2xx series, mine is 1995 c220 and those lights are surely peeing me off

i have the same issue more or less, and was told that i need to resynch the fob, and to do so press it once, so for example the green led comes on, then insert the key in the ignition and turn to position one or two (don't know which because mine is bonkers as well)

try that a few times until hopefully the fob will correctly get the leds to flash either RED or GREEN but not at the same time !

good luck

mines still driving me nuts, its like it loses synch every time i get in the car....

cheers

Officially it does this to tell you to change the batteries in the remote. Unofficially, it seems to do it from time to time anyway. Nothing to worry about - mine does it occasionally but it doesn't seem to make much difference. It could just be that the reciever didn't get a direct signal and it bounced around the interior of the car first instead, causing the signal to be weaker.
The single button remote system was always a bit tempramental.
