Hi,

first time user (found this good site through desperation) so apologies if this doesn't come out right. - Would be grateful for any help.
In the past week I've started having problems with my 1996 C230K. The following lights come on a few seconds after starting the car and stay on:

-ABS light
-handbrake on-light
-brakepad wear light
also
-speedo doesn't work
-odometer doesn't work

A few days ago they were all intermittant problems, but now the 3 lights stay on (from 2 secs after start-up) and the speedeo & odo don't work 100% of the time.

My car doesn't have ASD etc. I read through several threads last night and from that I think it's worth trying the brake light switch and the over voltage protection relay. I though also about connector to some wheel sensor ??
Can anyone help please?

Warning lights

I was wnadering if you managed to get the problem you had with the ABS light, hanbrake light and wear indicator light solved.

I have exactly the same problem with my 96 C230

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hello and welcome, are you sure that it is the abs, hand brake and pad warning lights on, did they come on all together

Warning lights

Hello, yes they all came on together, exactly the same problem as Enzo detailed above. The speedo has also stopped working. I have already replaced the n/s/f abs sensor. I've had the car put on diagnostics but only thing established was no power going to abs pump. I replaced the abs control unit in passenger footwell but still got same problem.

Hi,
I am desperately trying to solve a similar problem on my C250td.
Did you find a cure for your fault please?

A speed sensor fault probably.

A diagnostic check is in order for all of these faults. It is pointless guessing as it could be a few things.
