1997/8 c250 td

Hi i,m new here so go easy! I have a "R" reg c250td spoprt and the turbo is totally kaput. I,ve just bought a turbo off a 300d off e bay which looks exactly the same bar a small extension for the exhaust,accounting for 1 extra cylinder? Before i send the guy a cheque could anyone confirm that this will fit a 250?

There is a lot more to to it than just having a similar appearance.

1 the turbine blades and housing differ for various duties.
2 the compressor and housing differ.
3 the waste gates properties will differ.

Non of the above differences are likley to be seen by visual inspection, and the substitution of one type by another may not be as succesfull as one would want.

There are people out there who might be able to rebuild the original unit.
