I have this car and also the 1994 C180 and am comparing the figures if somebody can tell me as the 1994 is very sluggish with the 4speed auto. The 1997 can be driven in 5speed or 4speed and also goes to 3/2/1. The 1994 is only 4speed and also goes to 3/2 only. In the 1997, 5speed is very good for highways and 4speed is better in town or surburban travel with many short bursts and stops. I am getting more response and torgue from the 4 in this car especially with passenger or goods loads and uphill/downhill drives. All comments are welcome. The engine is a lot quieter without the engine fan and 2 electric fans as in the 1994 model. This one only has 1 electric fan.
