hi everyone, has anyone experienced a complete loss of engine power whilst the car is cruising say at 30 mph, if it was a petrol car it wolud be similar to disconnecting the ht lead with no spark to the engine for a split second, the car slows and then picks up instantly, this occurs at circa 1500 to 2000 rpm. if you select a lower gear from the auto's "D" drive and really put your foot down you get plenty of revs and power and the surging is 90% diminished. the following day this may not happen at all ? when the engine is not in drive the engine is perfect, reving freely and perfect tick over. could this be another manifestation of the dreaded limp home and another autobox idiosincracy ? any info on this one will be much appreciated. herbiemercman.
