Sprinter 410
I bought my Sprinter 412 from Brent Council February 2012 - took it to Storage and Parked it there for 10+ years.
Never ever moved it off Storage and so only covered a few yards on Storage over that 10 year time.
Last month took it out round St Helens and the Gearbox is Slipping in all 4 Gears uphill, it was fine when I Parked it 10 years ago.

I contacted my Local Auto Centre in Preston, Lancs for a repair via email and said;
Appreciate this will be a few hundred, just keep me updated, if it goes over a Grand and I will need to find more £££.

The reply this morning was;
Typical rebuild costs on a Sprinter are nearer £2000 so unless it`s just in limp mode because it`s been stood for example , or valve body has seized up through lack of use for example , don`t necessarily expect "a few hundred" of a job.

I thought 2K was a bit strong - So ... thought I should take this to my Peer Group here to tell me that it is a Good Quote or maybe not?

I never Dipped the Gearbox when I bought it 10 years ago and did for the first time last week and do notice that it has been overfilled past the MAX, but it Drove well from London to here in Wigan.

Any views on me being a 'Miser' good or Bad? - Thanks, Mark
