hi guys my car has developed a problem,when i start from cold sometimes the car cuts out(not all the time) other things i have noticed are.
1.very poor accelaration from cold somtimes sticks in 2nd gear because revs will not go high enough.
2.sometimes when the engine is warm if i am driving and i use the kickdown i can hear a popping sound through the exhaust
3.i think that there is a loss in power and fuel economy is not as good as it should be
can anyone help please thanks in advance

it sounds as though

the Lambda probe is on it's way out, or already gone. Off to a garage you trust and have them do an exhaust gas analysis. That will show up a lot of unburnt hydrocarbons (running rich), which the engine should not do if all is well. The other possibility is holed exhaust. Or something else b*ggering it up.

I would agree with the previous post ,but urge you not to drive the car in this condition unless absolutely necessary, as you will kill the catalytic converter if it has not already gone.

hi guys tried that took it to my local garage they done a check on the c.o.machine the results were
c.o content-0.01%
h.c 21
lambda 0.97
any more suggestions

Air mass meter. If the engine idles OK and generally runs OK on light throttle, then I would get this checked out. It will take 5 minutes for a dealer to put one on and try the car out on road test
