What are the big service mileages around the 80k miles mark on one of these and what has to be done.

Thanks,

Mike.

I don't actually have one yet. I am in the market looking for one so I just want to know what to look out for.

Mike.

It does vary alot depending on age, engine type and miles. If you take it to a dealer for a massive service. £700ish. If you take it to an independent you can normally half it.

Get an inspection done it is welll worth it.

As above, it does vary wildly.
But generally.
Oil and filter as normal.
Auto box fluid every 40-100k depending on who you talk to - if it's not been done yet, it should be.
Brake fluid and coolant every 2 years
Possibly the pollen filter and additional filter if it's a digital climate system.
MB's don't have timing belts so no worries there.
Not sure when the 230 needs plugs - the 240 was every 60k but I guess it would need some.

Those are the key biggies I can think of.

I think I'd particularly be looking for evidence of a couple of coolant changes and also brake fluid changes as jberks says. These are normally listed as extra items in the servicing schedules and a concientious owner should have had them done. Although did I note on this forum some time ago that there might be a 10 year antifreeze available? Worth asking the questions though.
