1st timer with a tyre question

Hi, I became the proud owner of a '99 T E300 TD avantgarde last week, with 86K on the clock. After owning a Mondeo for nearly 10 yrs it's like floating on air! That was until the off-side front low profile tyre (225/40/R18 ) went a bit flat today, and I couldn't get it inflated. The garage inflators I tried didn't seem to want to know. Is there a knack to getting these to inflate? Or is it a 'user' problem?

No there is no knack in it....You should have waited to some kid came along with his bike and asked them to blow it up for you...

i know at my local garage you have to press the 'flat' button if there is a very low pressure in the tyre
