Hi,

I have two questions about 2 parts of my interior...

Does anyone know if the part underneath the gearshaft surround is replaceable? Mine is so dusty and dirty I'd like to replace it ->

Also, I have some marks on the plastic of my speedo - I've tried everything to remove them - it feels like they may be marke from the inside...is this replaceable too?

Are these both fairly easy to do? Do I need any special tools?

Many thanks

Hi,
Not sure about the gearshift surround but I would try some STP cleaner first.

The dash is fixable but you will have to remove the cluster and dismantle it. You can get the cluster out by pushing it from behind, then just unclip the 2 halves. You can get a new front section (£50 for the E so probably similar for yours) but it would probably clean up anyway. If you do remove the dash, remember to disconnect the battery first or you will need an SRS reset when you put it back.

Hey finally someone who is even fussier than me. Welcome!

yes, you can get at the gearshift cover. I had to replace a bulb in there on mine and cleaned it when I was at it. The black plastic trim piece just levers up and put of the way. Next, the wooden piece surrounding also clips up (just lever it). After that you are seeing the block that supports the gearshift. At the front edge and back edge there are 4 long plastic clips that you will need a screwdriver to gently lever out and the top cover of the gearshift will lift up and out of the way. Under this you can gain access to the slot cover.

When you're at it you might as well also clean teh little clear plastic piece that goes over the PNDR32 bit.

Of course you could avoid all this and just use a small artists paintbrush to brush out the dirt and a hoover to keep the dust removed!!!!!

Thanks Fran :) I'll give this a go over the weekend when I fit the new pedals too.

Thanks jberks for the info - can you give me more info on getting the dash off to get to the cluster glass? I;m a bt confused on where to start.

Hi
Have a look at my old post -

Should give you an idea.
Be as gentle as you can when removing the cluster as apparently its quite common to break the perspex cover - then again if it won't clean, you'll need one anyway!
Good luck
