Hi,

I am a new member and so if posting in the wrong section..my apologies. My question - I am interested to find out if anyone out there has any first hand experiance of having fitted 20 inch wheels on SL's (post 2001 model)? For example changing from orignal 18" AMG's to 20 inch alloys with 305\25 ZR20 (REAR) and 255\30 ZR20 (FRONT) or similar?

Good or bad, any feedback gratefully received!

Thanks

Hi,and welcome to the forum,i am sure the 20inch wheels will look good on your car, but due to the low frofile of the tyres it will make the ride much harder.........

The rims will become damaged if you hit any potholes...

Hi AP1

Welcome to the forum,

The sidewall of the fronts would be 76.5mm and rolling cir. = 2076.59mm
The sidewall of the rears would be 71.25mm and rolling cir. = 2043.60mm

The difference is 32.99mm in rolling circumference or 1.59% less than the front.
This is usually within the the paremeters so as not to affect your ASR.

But if you put 245/30 ZR20s on the front rims the rolling cir. = 2057.74
............ and the back would be only .69% less.

Are these wheels genuine MB, if not there could be issues with actual rim width and ET.

What are the tyres on you 18" rims?

Regards the ride.... well it depends on what roads you usually drive on, but they will sure look good.
