Hi,
I have had this car from new and always thought the ride height was too low even taking into account the fact it is a 'sporty' model. Dealers in UK and Germany could not find a problem although it is easily grounded at very low speeds (5mph) when compared to other cars (Mazda's, Vauxhall's etc) in car parks or speed bumps.
Merc specialist but not dealer diagnosed worn springs and advised chaning. Whilst changing the front 2 it was noticed that 1 was broken anyway. The new springs were Merc originals for an E240 but not the same colour coding as the originals. The new springs appear to give a better ride height.
Does the spring fitted matter as long as they are for an E240 of the same age?
