Hi
I have just purchased the above, as a second car, and the badge is on the wrong side, I have taken it off and ordered a set from Mercedes (parts told me that E240 was discontinued & I have to order E420 & change them round!)
Does anyone have the exact measurements to put them on.
Thanks

Alan

Save yourself some money and leave it de-badged

If you must have a badge then why not just leave it badged as a 420

When they come they will be mounted on tape,,you will have to measure the spacings, and do check to see if there is a bigger gap between the E and where the numbers start

You can see in the link that this is the case
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...623716.634&CT=F&cat=65S&SID=74&SGR=045&SGN=03

Tape a straight edge piece of wood along the place where you wish to mount them, so that the bottom edge of the figures sit Use a spirit level, with the car standing level.

At the start of where the E goes tape another stick or something at 90º so you now have a guide for the E put the wider spacer bar against the E and stick on the 2 then the same with a narrower stick for the last 2 number.

T cut the area first,,you have no second chance when sticking them down.

There is no temple made,,MB use a special box

Thinking what Xtractorfan said you could mount them face down on some wide sticky tape, also on a straight edge, and push them all on in one go

I know where there is a good 420 engine if that would help
That would be nice:), I only got the car on Tuesday and I am surprised how smooth the V6 is, my S500 is obviously smooth and I was expecting this to be a tank, looking at the trip computer from the last owner, the fuel consumption is exactly the same 23.5 mph over 3,000 miles.

I know, but I always think that if you are looking to buy a car and it has E55 on the back of an E200, the driver thinks it is an E55 and abuses it.
I could have fun and put E200 on an E55:twisted:

A nice way to do it,,like when I fitted a 3 liter zodiac engine to my transit mini bus with a diesel bonnet some years back :D
