Hi guys,

I just bought a E280 with a 2.8 litre v6 in it. Its a 2000 model. I have replaced the pedal sensor and also there is a misfire at idle. When you shift into drive the misfire gets worse and the car starts to shake. Funny thing is that when you drive the car, it doesnt miss at all and there is heaps of power.

I got my electrician to do a scan tool diagnosis and the only thing that comes up is an oxygen sensor. The gearbox mount is also broken.

Can the gearbox mount cause the above. Im also suspecting the air flow meter. Has anyone had problems similar to the above and how was it solved.

Thanks guys

No the gear box mount wont cause a miss-fire, most common cause on that engine is one set of leads(2 to each coil), air mass as a rule gives you miss-fires right across the range!
