2000 ml320 power steering

ml320 2000w/60k
power steering gone-"oil"spray front driver side around the area of power fluid reservoir-causes??? it came on suddenly- how safe is it to drive w/out causing long term damage?-
do I have to use MB specific pwr string fluid-or any brand of pwr string fluid

don't drive without oil the pump would be damaged in a very short period of time, I would assume that the oil cooling pipe has come of the rad but this is on the nearside and you say oil is from drivers side ? fix the leak and refill before driving
