I've seen similar threads posted elsewhere in the forum but not too sure whether my problem is the same. The 2000 W210 clock LCD does not work all the time. The light/display goes out now and then. One noticeable symptom is that it will start to flick when I indicate either left or right, then it goes out briefly but comes back on again after a while. This problem started about a year ago and I have been putting up with it since. Just an annoyance but rather keep the cash myself than fixing it unless it is a simple repair. Any comment?

Its only that the ribbon cables need packing out where they join the PCB, details in the DIY section

Have a look at the DIY section but couldn't find the thread quickly. Further direction please Malcolm. Thanks!

Not so sure.
The normal problem is that certain pixels come and go. Is that your issue
If the whole thing flickers, do you think its the back light?
Does sound like a dodgy bulb or connection to me.

Not some pixels but the whole LCD flicker. The whole display stays out for about 10 sec but comes back on for a while afterwards. The whole process then repeats itself intermittantly and triggers by indicating in particular. My gut feeling is leaning more toward a connection problem but I'm really not too sure. Thanks!

i suspect this sin't the ribbon cable issue then. I'd start with bulbs and go from there. Worst case, give speedofixer a call.

sounds like dodgy bulb / bulb connection to me too
