Hi

Can anyone please enlighten me?

I own a late 2001 270CDI Avantgarde Saloon equipped with Xenon headlamps.

The left hand light unit will not adjust although the adjuster screws are free to move.

My dealer says this is a non servicable item and will need a complete new headlamp unit at massive expense.

Any ideas on a fix will be much appreciated.

Best regards

Hi,
If its got xenons, the headlights will be self-adjusting, according to how the car is loaded. The adjusting screws you are talking about, will be for calibrating the headlight level intially upon installation.
Self-adjusting headlights is a legal requirement with xenons.
I would try to source a 2nd hand unit from a breakers like Mercman in Southampton or Dronsfields.
Hope this is of some help to you.
