2001 C200k Fumes smell on Start

Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone else has had this? When I start my 2001 C200K Petrol from cold I get the initial start first time but the revs drop a little and pick up (It only takes 2 secs) And then I get a smell of fuel fumes in the cabin for about 10 secs after start. It feels like the car initially pumps to much fuel in on a cold start and then tries to rapidly stop the amount. The rest of the day the car will be perfect, it is just the initial start when the engine is cold. Am I being over pedantic or is this signs of something worse to come. Any assistance appreciated

i'd get it checked out, there was a lady here recently who had her car in for a service, took it out, it smelled of fuel, and she crashed

harsh i know but better to be safe than sorry

have you looked under the hood for any signs of leakage at all ?
