2001 CLK convertible roof issue

Hi folks

I have a bit of an issue with my convertible roof when I start the process of putting the roof down by twisting the release handle the windows don’t drop like they usually do has anyone come across this? And what did you do to rectify the issue? I suppose my question is is it a window problem or a roof problem?

There is company just outside Chester that specialise in convertible roofs and have a vast knowledge of all sorts of roofs and the problems with them from software issues to complete renewals. I recently had problems with one (not a Mercedes roof) and he was sorting out a roof on an old is Merc.
The company is called Hoodtech. Covers all sorts of problems the workshop was full of all sorts of very exotic cars from Bentleys to Ferrari's when I was there.
