Hi guys, There is a clunking noise coming from my front suspension when i go over bumps, i have already changed the anti-roll bars bushes and drop links but its still there, i think its the bottom ball joints.

Is it easy to do DIY, are there any complications??

Cheers Guys !!

Hi,

How easy of a job was it to replace the anti-roll bar bushes, I have been told by my indi that they are worn and was wondering if they will need to be done for the MOT in Nov.
The car is a ML270CDi

If you can get a local garage to give you a price because (pardon my french il est un "ache de ballon!!" if they are the same as the w201 series then they are a press fit in to the radius arm!

Tkey're a bollix to get out and a bollix to get back in again!!

A straight forward job. Just two nuts either side.

Hi there, I had a mechanic do it, it said it wasn't really a major job to do, just have to jack up the complete front end of the car!

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
I had them done on mine when I bought the car, the indy treated it as a fairly routine job, I couldn't tell you the price as there were a few things done.

Sorry BUt I posted if they were the same as the 190 W2-1 series because they are a press fitted balljoint into a cast arm and you have to press it out and back in INc removing lower front radius arm ( unless you cheat!) but that's enough of that!

I think the easy job is the anti roll bar bushes and the bolix of a job is the bottom ball joint.

W210 ball joints are a doddle to change, no different than most other cars, just buy yourself a decent splitting tool and you won't have a problem.

Bottom ball joints on 211 are pressed in/out. They have also been modified & should have been changed by MB during servicing. The mod ones have a "1" on the bottom of them. If they have an "S" or "0" on them, "think" MB will replace them free of charge, regardless of age:D:D
