Hello everyone,
I've had my car 5 years (around 30,000 miles)...I'm guessing the plugs need changing....The car was given to me so I doubt the plugs were changed since way before that!
I'm trying to research the correct plugs...hmm.....Is Bosch FR8DPP33+ correct........Are NGK ones a better option?...NGK 7090.?
It's not easy to find correct info.....Any other suggestions?
Is it an easy DIY job?....Sounds a bit of a mission!..A tool to remove the plug caps.
Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks for reading.:).

To remove the plug caps there is a special tool. You can make one from a 17mm spanner if you have gas to bend a spanner.

Those plugs don't sound right to me.
NGK PFR5G-11 is the right one from memory.

Alternative equivalents from Beru and Denso are good too.

If you are not sure as to the tool, the plugs or the method. I say get it done by an Indy.

Yep plugs are a service item..

That's why I'm here - To hopefully get confirmation of the correct plugs!:geek:
I know about the tool and am researching the method.
I'm pretty handy with a spanner and am sure I can do it.:)

Just make sure that the deep plug socket is all the way down and in line with the stem of the plug.
I had one case where the stem of the plug snapped.

for the price, just pop to your local MB dealer and get from there. doubt they will be substantially more than the likes of ECP.

have you looked on the likes of Youtube for how its done.

Send this guy an email . Green Park Plug Co,, also on Ebay then ask what he recommends for your engine . Thats what i did,, because i wanted a change and went over to Beru after he said they would be a good plug to use .

Exactly. Or, failing that, find the MB part number from the dealer or from an MB parts catalogue. NEVER accept the part numbers recommended by sources such as AutoDoc or Euro Car Parts etc.

I use MB original plugs and all is well.

Good hunting.

Well that's wrong immediately. The V6 isn't 24v!

With the V6 it gives this:
View attachment 74221
Thank you.:geek:
That is my engine.....seems it's a E320T....S210 - not w210 as I thought (No idea of the difference)
The plug you initially suggested (as above) comes up all the time.....Occasionally PFR5R-11 (no idea of difference)
I've only really been looking at NGK and Bosch plugs.
Bosch FR8DPP33 and also Bosch FR8DPP33+ , comes up a lot....what difference does the + make?..I've no idea.
It really is confusing as many other types are suggested also.
I'm going to make a tool , take one out and see what's in it.
Seems like the service interval for the plugs on a M112 engine is 100,000 miles.

The last plugs I bought from my local MB dealer were around £5+ each ...... I'd previously bought plugs from Vauxhall for around £2.50 each ... less than half the price.
