Hi Folks. I have just bought my sisters lovely 2001 SL500. She has put a dab blaupunkt in the car stereo system. Now the question I ned help with is....
Does the car only have 2 front door speakers, as the fader on the radio seems only to have front speakers either connected or working.
Sorry if I sound a bit of a lemon, but this is my 1st venture into Mercedes country!

HMMM. I am not sure. You mean that the doors should have 2 sets of speakers in each...?

Wherever there is a "grille" you should find a speaker. look at the doors and peer with a torch

The SL 129 only has the speakers in the front bottom section of the door, the grill is held with one screw on the underside of the grill, big problem is that the standard speakers are only 1Ω impedance. Those Bose had a bass woofer in the rear panel of the car.
There are 2 small speakers in th top dash panel above the air vents each side

I have searched for speakers.....I can't seem to hear any above the dash vents :( . And there are only the 2 in the front of the door working. How can I tell if it has a subwoofer in the back. I certainly can't hear it, but maybe it is not connected up properly.

Your answers are good and welcome on anything to do with MB, and we all know that.:D :D

Some people get very ratty if one says something that may not be exact, the benefits are many fold as they make others think. So many times I have posted something and someone comes up with an different approach, and and open up new possibilities and ideas
