Unfortunately my copy of WIS doesn't have wiring diagrams for the radio connector. Car is a 2001 SL320 V6
So far I believe connector A is as follows:
A1 Speed signal (?)
A2 ???????????? (I need to know what this wire is)
A3 Mute
A4 30 +ve
A5 Antenna
A6 Illumination
A7 Ignition 15 +ve
A8 Earth 31
I need a speed impulse so I take it that A1 is really the speed signal... what output does it give as I need "Low - level = earth, high level 12-16v"
It is the wire in the connector at A2 that is bothering me. Is this related to the vehicles multiplex or CAN system?
The reason I need to know is that I am connecting an aftermarket Becker Sat Nav system and the speed impulse to A1 needs to be as specified above.
A2 needs to be connected to a 12v reverse signal, so I probably need to isolate the wire that is already there and connect the reverse signal to the radio. (Is it Ok to route this from the rear light or will it cause bulb warning lamp problems?)
Any help would be much appreciated as well as confirmation of my correct identification of the connectors!
