2001 SLK Drivers Door Mirror Query

My sister has completely demolished her drivers door mirror reversing into the garage & she's asked me to find & fit a replacement. Her SLK is 2001, 3.2, on a Y plate & with integral indicator in the door-mirrors.

My question is, will any SLK door mirror up to present with an indicator be a perfect fit for her car?

I phoned local Mercedes dealership & they want me to ring back next week with the VIN, meanwhile I've seen a couple on eBay with the integral flasher but with the model listed as both R170 & R171 so I'm just a little confused.

The face lift 170 has the indicators built in, so any mirror with the indicator built in will be OK, I am not sure of the 171 as I have no info on that.

To replace it just prise of form the top the cover in side and remove the screws

Door Mirror Help!

Hello Malcolm, I hope you are well. I wonder if you can help me, the drivers door mirror on my R170 facelift took a hit, as a result the casing has slightly come adrift at all joints, therefore I need to completely srtip it down and put it back together properly, can you point me in the direction of a schematic? ;-)
