Sorry to trouble you guys again but I'm sure that you'll be able to help,

I've just replaced my sisters SLK offside door-mirror, ( an easy job thanks to you guys ) all is well, electric mirror adjustment etc but when using the right turn indicator the off-side indicators glow constantly & when using left turn the near-side flashers flicker rapidly, if I unplug the door mirror all indicators work fine.

Is there a relay or something that needs replacing?

Once again many thanks fellas

Chris

Wired up wrong, which is pretty hard to do, or.............wiring fault on the mirror from to door control!

Thanks for you quick reply, with the broken door-mirror all worked perfectly, is it a simple job to swap the old mirror wiring cluster ( ?? ) to the one just fitted or I am I being too simplistic?

Thanks again

:)

I swapped the complete door-mirror unit, it only took 10 minutes, thought it went a bit too well.

At least my sister can drive without a duck-tape bandaged door-mirror, even if the door-mirror indicator itself doesn't work, hope I can fix it for her though.

Is the door-mirror indicator not working an MOT failure?

Thank you again

Sorry the mirror was cracked when she clipped the garge door pillar.

This is turning into a saga, already bought a later one off eBay that was the wrong shape & now this, & I thought the 7 yrs bad luck thing was an old wives tale lol

Sounds like it might be a bad earth to me. Have you checked all the electrical connections thoroughly?

It works on the old unit, earth comes from the door control unit, if it was a bad earth then both head units would be faulty, not just the new one!!

I would suspect that the new unit has the wiring slightly different in the plug. Compare the old and new, particularly looking at the colours of the wires.

Side repeater not working is an MOT fail.
