The Audio 10 CD is a truely terrible system.

Is there a direct replacement that retains use of the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel?

Thanks in advance.

You could get a quote from Alfie for a COMAND unit to replace your Audio 10.

Then you could have this:

Mine is factory fitted though :)

Stop tempting me, vile temptress !! :D

Funnily enough, I have a couple of emails from Mark in my inbox, as I was already considering it. I'm weighing up all possibilities before deciding, as I'm not sure how long I'll be keeping this car.

I can see that you've been shopping a lot through eBay (haven't we all) :D and have the pedal covers I was considering, and the chrome surrounds. I've been waiting to see a pic of them installed in 'real life' and they actually look quite nice. Have you got the aluminium door knobs and surrounds as well?

What are the horizontally opposed arrow heads on the dash? Is that Parktronice, or an aftermarket version?

Where did you get the steering wheel from? Standard?

And finally, any other toys you have retro fitted that I should be made aware of?:):p

Sorry for all the questions, but it's nice to see a picture that contains pretty much all of the lines I've scribbled on my notepad and a helpful owner who's done them all.

Major advantage of fitting COMAND would be that it should be a doddle to sell your car when the time comes. You may even get all or nearly all of your investment back come resale time. It seems that everybody wants factory Sat Nav these days but the COMAND is much more than just Sat Nav.

SLK Pedal covers were transferred from my old W202 so no additional spend there but they only cost around £25 from the main dealer for the lot!

The only interior enhancements are what you see in the pic. Only chrome added is the gear surround and around the heater knobs. Also changed the gearknob for half wood/leather. The Parktronic and steering wheel were both factory fitted too ;)

Good luck with your mods but let me know if you want to know what I paid for the chrome bits.

The chrome pedals are available from your local dealer for less than those on ebay! ITs one of those great ebay annomolies where ebay costs more than your local dealer!
