2001/Y E320 Cdi Estate

Just bought the car, and in the back seat the sentre arm rest was down. Didn't think anything of it, but after trying I cannot get it back in the seat. A tray comes out to place cups in, but I can't fold it away.

Its got my stumped. Is there a nak to it, or has something broken?

hi,
the cup holders when out, drop down to accept a cup, and can, with the usual spilt sticky stuff start to stick. try to ease the base of the holders up as you push the holder back into the arm rest, it should do it automatically try a good cleaning
