2002/52 reg E Class -Aircon fault

Anyone help - have e320 petrol-new shape from new - aircon suddenly blows warm in the back - cold in the front still. Have the upgraded digital lcimatic control system - the dealer is stumped on this one - teh car has been in for four days so far.....md technical looking into it etc...

often dirt in the temp sensors or the fan in the sensor going kaput (are you a smoker? live in a dusty area?)

all sorts of things do this - ovp relays are a culprit for weird problems - but i doubt it on this one.

even though a fault code isnt present - doesnt mean that there isnt a problem - for example, if the sensor says its 10 deg (well within normal) the system will act accordingly (chucking hot air) - BUT if the air is at 20 deg then the sensor is faulty - but wont register as such. try getting the sensor values up on screen (live) and sit in the car with a hot air gun / hair dryer and a themometer and check all the sensors operate as expected...

i had this with the engine sensor - computer said it was fine (80 deg) yet it was at 90+ deg so ran crap!

Well, check also if you have gas in system. Mine had similar failure, eventaully traced to a faulty condenser radiator. Its a W210 not sure if different but there is a history of air con trouble.

Not sure how long you have the car but get a full and I mean full examination done independently before the warranty expires. It will pay for itself.
