Hi all

I bought a C200K last year - 07/10/02, within the year I have had a list of problems, can anyone tell me if another C200k has experienced these faults and what was done!! The car has been seen to and as most of the faults are intermittent, and do NOT occur with the mechanic, there is allegedly NO FAULT with the car; yet when I get it back the faults are there!! - Am I losing my mind?????

1. Driver's Memory seat - loss of power, unable to do any form of adjustments.
2. Sunroof - elec. tilt/slide - opens fine, go to close it - slides to about an inch from the end and slides back out again!
3. Pongy smell from vents with a/c off and auto selected.
4. Seat belt warning on drivers side, takes 30 seconds to switch off after the passenger has left the car.
5. Xenons - loud audible grating heard from within the car, as the xenons swivel into place.
6. Key fob won't work - despite battery change!!
7. Lights illuminate automatically in daylight - on auto setting, but fail to illuminate in a dim tunnel.
8. Wipers work in dry weather automatically - on auto setting.
9. Parktronic sensors fail to work!!!
10. Gear got stuck in Park, had to call MB assyst, who forced it out, yet informed me that there is no problem (according to the computer) to the car. Since then, Tiptronic function lost, have to force gear stick into drive otherwise it stays in Neutral.

So 10 faults within a year - have I got a duff car??? What happened to the MB engineering that we hear about???

Garage is still unable to isolate the problems, let alone rectify them!!

All help appreciated

Tony

Hi Tony,

3. Has happened to me, after I picked up my car from the garage (had been sitting idle for the best of 2 months) and the climate control set to auto, and the car emmited a pongy smell.... I left the air con on permanently, and the smell cleared up itself within a couple of weeks.

8. No idea, but when I didn't close the bonnet hard enough, it didn't trip the sensors, so my wipers didn't work. Something to do with that or the actual rain sensors?
