Just posting this in case it helps anyone.
I took my car into CarCraft in Merton for a quote to repair some bumper damage and got chatting about rust issues. According to what they have seen, the Coupe version of the C-Class from the 200x era does not seem to suffer from wheel arch rust issues.
Have to say that has been my experience too (so far...
