2002 SL 500 issue.

Hi All

My SL500 2002 seems to go into slow mode at times. When I push down on the accelerator it won’t increase in speed.

I need to pull over and turn the ignition off the restart the car.

It then works fine.

Any suggestions to this problem would be appreciated.

Hi there everyone.

I have 2002 SL 500.

Occasionally whilst I’m driving the car will not accelerate.
The ignition remains on but it just feels like it has gone into limp mode.
When I stop the car and re start all is fine.
Any advise is appreciated.

Good morning, it could be the throttle position switch, but imho, it is probably better to find a good Mercedes independent and get it fixed first time.. rather than replacing parts “willy nilly”..

very common issue, a replacement throttle pedal is required. I change quite a few with the same issues.

Best to get it on a STAR scanner to confirm.
