2002 W203 C220CDI Compressor

I've been told that the compressor on my C220CDI (W203) is faulty and needs replacing, hence no air con over the summer.:Oops:
I'm going to look around before I buy to see if I can get one cheaper than £400 that aftermarket sales are selling them for.
I've seen some on ebay but the part numbers advertised are not the same as mine so I don't know if they will fit.
I've been told that the compressors off other merceds cars should fit but wanted to check.
The numbers I've managed to find on my compressor are 447 220 8224 and 11c 40426.
3 questions
1/ Will any compressor fit?
2/ Are the numbers I gave correct part numbers, if not does anyone have the correct part number for the car?
3/ Does anyone know where I can locate one? I spoke to Mercman and they didn't have one.

Just asking, are you sure that the compressor has gone

No problem.
I've had it to a couple of specialised A/C places and they both confirm.
Cars been in a bump too so I'm not surprised.
