Hey guys ,

just picked up a CLK 320 w209, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to install digital tv, I’d like the to keep the original head unit! Tried to find these posts of installing but have had no luck. Will also need a link to the Dvb-t to buy. Thank you

Hi
Has the car already got the TV function and you to convert it to digital? Or are you looking to add the TV function?
If looking to add the TV function then I take it the standard stereo installed in youre car is Command 2?

I have to ask why bother?
It will only operate whilst stationary and having it in one of my cars is the biggest waste of money going! It never gets used.

this is 100% correct,

I once used it to see part of F1 quali - the battery will go flat so need to keep the engine running and that's more irritating than missing the programme.... I've had the car 7 years and used the TV for less than 1 hour

TV is a nice to have and not a must have IMHO. think about it, you will only use when waiting about for someone and you can usually keep yourself enterained doing other things. Like wise if you need it for eg kids, then a dvd is the better option.

TV can be useful if wanting to listen to a sporting event when on the move, but is is worth the cost.

I have both and DVD gets more use. TV is full of trash tbf

If your car came with an original analogue tuner then there was a MB digi tuner to piggyback on the old tuner - expenisve. Not known as you dont post the age of the car.

Otherwise easiest is to get a 12 digi box and connect this via your aux inputs, but this needs a bit of wiring for a dab ariel and an IR eye for the remote.

have you checked what options were availabale with your car...

Ask @Alfie the best options for your car - if comandonline dont know, no one will.

ps its been covered to death on the forum in various guises, so use the search function

I don't know what you currently have but suspect COMAND 2?
How much will it be to add the TV function when you could add much more functionality and keep the same looks.

It is easy enough to revert back if you like the 20 year old unit ;)
