2003 E500

[E500KEN]

Hi all. I'm new here so please be patient. I just purchased a 2003 E500 and the Auto Climate control doesn't seem to know anything but frigid no matter what the temp settings. Anyone have the same experience or know a cure? Also, it has the nosiest engine I've ever experienced in a Mercedes. I had a 240D that was quieter. I would appreciate any and all input. Thanks. Ken

The engines are noisy for the first few thousand... Whats ure mileage....

My uncles E240 2.6 was v noisy when new, sounded like a bearing had gone somewhere and i was fuming with the dealers.... but over a few months (6000 miles) it got quieter, still not as quiet as older mercs, but acceptable... The dealers showed us various E class engines, they were all noisy when new.

As for Air Con, still under Warranty???

It's still under warranty, thank God. 5400 miles and it still sounds like there is a valve that need adjusting. The dealer says it's what they all sound like. Anyway, thanks for the reply. Ken

Doesn't sound right to me its not the quitest engine in the world but its not bad. Ask the dealer to put two cars side by side, yours and a new one and make your own mind up.
