PROBLEM 1 – CAR WON’T START
Car left unused over COVID. SAM (Signal Acquisition Module) got damp.
ISSUE #1 - Relays stick. Fuse 59 pops because Relay L sticks SHUT.
THE CURE - Pull Relay L and ‘gently’ lift off cover and exercise the relay ensuring contacts do not stick. Test it on a 12V battery (Circuit Normally OPEN I.E. 0 Ohms).
ISSUE #2, SAM is open to damp air.
The CURE - Get a hair dryer on low heat mounted a few inches away and let it warm up and dry out the SAM for an hour or two. Replace Fuse 59, then start the car (Hopefully).
PROBLEM 2 – RAD FAN STAY ON AT FULL PELT WHEN ENGINE STOPPED AND HIGH PITCH WHISTLING FROM OTHER COMPONENTS
THE CURE, Pull Relay N and ‘gently’ lift off cover and exercise the relay ensuring contacts do not stick. Test it on a 12V battery (Circuit Normally OPEN I.E. 0 Ohms).
