2003 R230 SL350 Comand random off and on??

So while I'm still basking in the glory of two working headlights and pending a return visit to Prestige on 14th January I've had a reoccurrence of a previous problem whereby my Comand unit will randomly turn itself off and the power button light goes out, then several minutes later it will suddenly spring back into life.

This appears to be completely random as it doesn't do it all time, pretty sure it's not battery related as I make sure I keep the consumer battery charged.

Has anyone else had experience of this and if so did you get to the bottom of what was causing it?

Nothing comes up as a malfunction but due to a rather turbulent few weeks with a personal relationship I haven't got round to buying a scanner yet, it's due to go back to Prestige on 14th for an issue with the climate control so it may show up then.

Only ever happened to me on my old 2003 CLK, was battery related.
