2004 mercedes clk 270cdi not starting

Hi,
My car was left for a few montgs parked up so i started her up to run it for a while, but forgot about it and it ran out of fuel, i put fuel in it and tried starting it, but all i get is lights on the dash and i cannot here the pump priming the system, i cant even crank it over, the fuse is ok.
Any help would b3 appreciated

Turn the ign on and off a few times , wait 20 seconds in-between tries. Battery will need changing or charging if it's been stood months.
