I have a W209 CLK 270 which is 3 weeks old. It has a marked tendency to pull to the left, especially on the motorway. It has already been back to the dealer for a wheel alignment check. This revealed that the front wheels, whilst not being out of limits, were right to the one side of the tolerance. This was corrected, but the car still tends to pull to the left and I am constantly aware of having to correct this. Has anybody else experienced this and if so, what was the cure? [/code]

CLK Pulling left

Hello Colin,
I had this prob with a C Class coupe which was cured. Was it just tracking you had checked?. It needs to be camber/castor as well. There are LOADS of posts on here which go into detail about the fix, apparently it is a trait of MBs so you dont run into opposing traffic if you fall aspleep, yeah right. Any way when the fix is done (find the posts some are long winded!) remember that the car will do what your arms used to do and there is a chance there will be some uneven tyre wear although I havnt noticed this on mine and I check it every 300 miles or so

Good Luck

Many thanks for the info. The car is due back at the dealer on the 21st and I will check then about caster and camber. I have also arranged to drive the demo CLK to see how it compares with mine.
