The time has come again to have a set of new tyres on my e class.
Currently have P7’s on which have lasted 30k miles.
I’m up for trying another tyre so I’m looking at the primacy 4 or the Good year efficient grip.
Anyone had any good experiences with those tyres or shall I just stick with the Pirelli’s?
they did get quite noisy when they got worn I must admit!

I've Goodyear efficient grip and very impressed with them as summer tyres

Done

9K on them last summer, not refitted them yet, but still loads of tread.
Okay, they seem the cheapest and on paper are the best!

It's tarmac what's important... ;)
yes I agree, the Pirelli’s where very good at holding the road, never had good years so I don’t know what the difference is going to be like!

I've found the Goodyears much better than the Pirelli's that were on before - SLK is a different beast to a E class though

Both the Michelin and Gooyear variants will be better performers that the P7's. I've not run those from new to 1.6mm except for the previous Primacy which was satisfying.

I'd certainly expect you to get more out of them compared to your Pirelli's but to be honest, if you're getting 30K from a set of tyres on a big heavy car, you last concern should be longevity.

My 211 runs on a cheaper GoodYear owned brand (not available in the UK apparently) but if they are any indication of GY performance and comfort, then I would go for GdYrs any day over the Michelin Primacies I have been using for the last few decades!

I use Goodyear Efficient Grip on my S211, only had it around 9000 miles but they look barely worn.

Also comfortable, quiet and plenty grippy enough.

I think I’m fairly settled on the Goodyear’s, the Pirelli’s made a huge difference when I first had them (when I first had the car it had budgets which were awful)

I think the 30k mile thing is more of a challenge although not sure if I’ll own the car in another 30k miles would be nice to see it fly by 200k

You can't go wrong with them (or the Primacy) so hope you enjoy your investment.

Well built cars, correctly maintained, will laugh at 200K.
