Hey guys. My first post on this forum, just wanted to say hello to all you good people.

I have a problem with my 2006 CLS500.
Yesterday i got to work, shut my vehicle off and light off, I get out of the car and I see my tail light (bottom part right light) won't turn off. I went back in, started it up, got message on dash: "Display Malfunction: contact service" or something like that. Turned my light on and off and the part was still on. I ended up pulling the carpet off and unplugging the right tail light to keep it off so my battery wouldn't die. Well sometime at night I noticed my left bottom tail light was flickering and blinking every now and then. When I got out of work in the morning, I went to use the fob to unlock the car but fob was not working. When I click the buttons, the little red light on the fob light up but no reaction from the car. Good thing I left it unlocked. I then tried to open the trunk with the button from the inside, using the fob, and also just by pulling the handle up physically and it wouldn't open. I had to take the physical key out of the fob, insert it in the key hole, and pull the latch to open the trunk. Any ideas what the heck is going on? Please let me know.

Ps also notified blinkers now working

below is the link to the video I uploaded to YouTube so you can see what it does:

I drove thru some puddles yes but I don't think it was that bad. It rained few days. Where should I start looking? Someone to me to look at the SAM module in the trunk

Display Malfunction: Visit workshop idicates a problem with the body canbus. As the rear lights are playing about, I would sanity check the rear sam module (rear fuse box) for water/damage etc.
Otherwise, it needs a can test running to see which items are not responding, (whilst the problem is happening) this can often help identify what module is causing the CAN faults.

My buddy plugged it in to his scanner, all these codes popping up. I really am trying to avoid going to a dealer, I don't want to pay arm an a leg.

Find a good independent, this car will be older than most of the mechanics in the dealer :D

Try clearing the faults and see which ones come up first, often a single fault may trigger an avalanche of faults.
