we have had the car since new and havent had any problems until about 3 months ago. every now and then you unlock the car with the remote, put the key in the ignition, turn it and nothing happens. it is like the key hasnt been put in at all. the car doesnt seem to recognise it. if you turn the key back a couple of times and or take it out and put it back in again it then lights up the dash etc.

our worry is that one day it wont start and clearly there is a problem. it is under warranty and has been back to MB Tamworth twice now. they cant find any problem at all. they have experienced it themselves on two occassions so they know that there is a problem but cant find it.

has anyone else had a similar experience please and if so what happened?

the key fob has been suggested as a potential problem, they have both had new batteries and it doesnt matter which one is used the problem persists.

any help gratefully received by us and MB Tamworth

many thanks
