Hi All,
I have a 2007 Mercedes LWB Sprinter 311CDI, it had a 80,000 mile engine dropped in after the 190,000 one let go. Original parts swapped over to this motor like the turbo etc…
I’m having an issue where in 4th - 6th gear under load at around 3000RPM the turbo seems to boost cut and blow off. We confirmed this with a boost gauge.
At around 3700 - 4000RPM the boost noise drastically increases and is a much bigger cut. At lower gears this does not happen no matter the RPM.
The only other noticeable symptom is a metallic screeching noise from the engine at around 3000RPM. I’m not sure if this is a pulley or something related to the boost cut.
Any light that anyone could shed on this?
