Hi Took off rear view mirror to check out panoramic roof gear hoping it was just the gear needed replacing. Looks like the gear is ok but when trying to put it back can not get the rear view mirror back in . Does anybody know how this is meant to go back in. Tried pushing it but not sure if you need any special tools as the ends are wider than the hole it’s needs to into.

Off the windscreen? When my rvm got knocked off 
rolleyes: long story) there was a 3 sided spring clip that attached to a triangular-ish lug ... can't think now which attached to the mirror & which attached to the screen .... to attach the mirror I offered the mirror to the screen 120 degrees out & twisted it into place.
