I’m looking at buying a 2008 SL 500 Sport Edition with about 70,000 miles on the clock. Is there anything in the service history that should have been carried out so I can check. Also what should I be looking out for when viewing (ie damp boot)
Thanks for reading

Gearbox oil change should have been done at 37500 miles by MB
Also it would be nice to see an ABC fluid change in there as well . Might be a negotiation point ?

Check if the engine number is in the balance shaft worry range.

Engine number is 27396530187449
Also got a report that says on the MOT Offside Front suspension arm ball joint has slight play. Any ideas what this would cost at a good independent garage and would I be advised to get the offside done as well?
Thanks for the help

If there is no evidence of ABC fluid and filter change be very wary. I bought a car with less mileage and full MB history. That meant (apparently) that the ABC was never touched. The car is now on coilovers.

The engine number is in the range for the the idler wear on m273. There are further checks you can do, or just walk away and find another one.

Im a tad confused, in the information someone else kindly sent me it says if the engine serial number is above 2739 30088611 then the engine does not suffer from the balancing thing, ?
Doh, you’re right, sorry. I’d ignore me, most people do.
