As the title says, I have a 2009 E350 with 82K miles on clock.
This am car started fine, put in reverse but although the dashboard says it is in reverse, pressing the pedal won't move the car. Changed to "D" again rev meter is going to 3000 RPM but car wouldn't drive.
Went through Park, drive reverse three to four times still the same problem. Then changed from comfort to sport mode and back to comfort and it drives fine.
I recently had the gearbox serviced locally with genuine filter and red Mercedes ATF oil. I took it back to them thinking oil level may not be correct. However it is correct, there is no fault on their diagnostic equipment.
Can any guide me in the right direction what the problem may be before I take it to main dealers?
Many Thanks in advance for any help

can you hear the engine note or revs change as you select and deselect gears ?

There is no change in revs or there is no noise either when cycling through D, P or R. However pressing the accelerator hard makes car move few feet very very slowly , direction depends upon if it is in D or R.

Yes I do have another key

Can you try it and see if problem goes away. Without a fault code read your guessing , but don't assume its mechanics, the gearbox has systems that talk to it inc the immobiliser, the brake pedal switch also. Where abouts are you incase someone near has a scanner and may help you.

I see, I will certainly try the other key and report back. I am in Horncastle, Lincolnshire.
Thank you for your advice.
